What is Ceramic filled metal Coating?
Ceramic filled metal coating also known as Ceramic Filled Fluorocarbon Coating.
A ceramic-metallic coating that resists oxidation at high temperatures and has long-term resistance to salt fog, it can also be used as a standalone coating or as a sacrificial primer
The base coat applied a Ceramic coating,utilizes an extremely hard ceramic matrix alloy know as xylar 2 ,which provides exceptional corrosion and abrasion resistance to the fastener. The fluropolymer PTFE xylan topcoat is designed to ensure that the threads remain permanently dry-lubricated, making torqueing up easier and preventing subsequent corrosion seizure.
Xylar 2 is a high-performance coating primarily designed for protecting metal surfaces against corrosion, oxidation, and wear. It is a blend of ceramic and aluminum particles in a resin binder, offering advanced protection, particularly in extreme environments.
Ceramic filled fasteners used for highly corrosive and marine environments ensure complete protection against corrosion.
What is Fluoropolymer Coatings?
This coating is the perfect blend of high performance resins and fluoropolymer lubricants. The presence of the most electro-negative element and the most reactive non- metal, fluorine has added important properties to the coating. As the atomic radius of Fluorine’s is smallest next to hydrogen, so it is able to form extremely strong bonds with other elements. When reacted with carbon in fluoropolymer, the extremely strong, tight bond produces an extraordinary combination of properties.
These thin coated films provide excellent corrosion, abrasion, electrical and chemical resistance as well as help to reduce friction, resistant to galling, non stick and non wetting. Fluoropolymer coatings are applied to fasteners and various OEM components to provide a longer life before replacement.
