This specification covers the requirements for commercial wrought nonferrous bolts, hex cap screws, and studs 1/4 to 1 1/2 in. and socket head cap screws (including socket head cap, button head and flat countersunk head configurations) with nominal thread 0.06 (size 0) through 1.500 in. inclusive in diameter manufactured from a number of alloys in common use and intended for general service applications.
Material is available in Copper alloys, Monel alloy 400, 405, K500, Inconel 625, Aluminum alloys and Titanium as well, intended for general service applications. All the bolt and screw products are duly tested and supplied with EN 10204 Type 3.1 certification.
The strength of Inconel 625 fasteners are largely due to a stiffening effect from the addition of Niobium nd Molybdenum, therefore hardening is not required. Since N06625 hex bolt is very resistant to chloride attack, pitting, and crevice corrosion, it makes it an excellent choice for sea water applications. For this reason, it is commonly used in submerged applications by the Navy on submarines, and boats.
